1. About Connect Lawyer
What is Connect Lawyer?
Connect Lawyer is a platform that helps you find and book a fixed-fee consultation with an independent, SRA-regulated lawyer in the UK. We solve two problems people consistently face when trying to get legal help: not knowing the price before you commit, and not being able to find a lawyer quickly. With Connect Lawyer, you see the price upfront and can book a real time slot with a specific lawyer, on your terms.
Is Connect Lawyer a law firm?
No. Connect Lawyer is a booking and payment platform, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice ourselves. Every lawyer listed on Connect Lawyer is independently regulated (for example, by the Solicitors Regulation Authority) and is solely responsible for the advice they give you. Your legal relationship is with the lawyer you book, not with Connect Lawyer.
What areas of law do your lawyers cover?
Our current categories are Family, Immigration, Property, Wills & Probate, Employment, India–UK Cross-Border Legal Support and Other. Each lawyer's profile lists the specific services they offer.
2. Booking & Pricing
How does booking work?
Choose a lawyer based on their specialism, then pick one of the session lengths they offer. You'll see the lawyer's real availability, choose a time that works for you, fill in a short form with your name, phone number and a brief description of your situation, and pay the fee shown. That's it: no quotes and no back-and-forth.
How much does a consultation cost?
Each lawyer sets their own session lengths and prices, which Connect Lawyer reviews before they appear on the website. You can see every lawyer’s sessions and prices on their profile and when you choose a lawyer on the booking page.
There are no hidden fees. The price shown before you pay is the price you pay for that consultation.
Can I choose which lawyer I speak to?
Yes. Unlike some platforms that assign you a lawyer automatically, Connect Lawyer lets you browse profiles and pick the specific lawyer you want to book, based on their specialism, experience, and availability.
What happens after I book?
You'll receive a confirmation email with your appointment time and lawyer details. The lawyer will also receive your name, phone number, and situation description in advance, so they can prepare before your call.
Do lawyers speak languages other than English?
Some lawyers on our panel speak additional languages. This is noted on their individual profile where applicable.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. Please see our full Refund & Cancellation Policy for exact timeframes, but in general, cancelling with enough notice entitles you to a full refund, and you can reschedule via the link in your confirmation email.
What if the lawyer cancels or doesn't show up?
You will automatically receive a full refund, with no need to request one. We'll also help you rebook with another available lawyer in the same category if you'd like.
What if I'm not happy with the consultation?
If you have a concern about how the platform itself handled your booking or payment, contact us at hello@connectlawyer.co.uk. If your concern is about the legal advice you received, that should be raised directly with the lawyer and, if unresolved, may be a matter for the Solicitors Regulation Authority or the Legal Ombudsman, since Connect Lawyer does not provide or review legal advice.
4. Trust & Vetting
How are lawyers vetted before joining Connect Lawyer?
Every lawyer who applies to join Connect Lawyer goes through a review process where we verify their professional registration (such as their SRA number) and relevant experience before their profile is approved and made live on the platform.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a leading global payment processor. Connect Lawyer never sees or stores your full card details.
How is my personal information used?
Please see our Privacy Policy for full details. In short, we only use your information to facilitate your booking and connect you with the lawyer you've chosen.
5. For Lawyers
I'm a lawyer. How do I join Connect Lawyer?
Visit our Join Connect Lawyer page and submit an application with your details, including your professional registration information and areas of practice. Our team reviews every application and verifies credentials before approving new lawyers to join the platform.
How do payments to lawyers work?
When a client books and pays for a consultation, Connect Lawyer retains a 10% platform fee, and the remaining 90% is paid directly to the lawyer via Stripe Connect. Lawyers can view their bookings and earnings through their own dashboard once onboarded.
